In preparing for my solo trip to Baguio, one of the most important things that I considered is the place I am going to stay in. My trip was roughly two days, and I thought I'd probably be out strolling around Baguio anyway for most of the day, so I'd get a cheap, nice and secured room enough to keep my stuff for most of the day while I am out and comfortable room to sleep at during the night. Of course, I also considered how far it would be from the tourist spots I plan to visit.

I spent quite a long while deciding if I will rent a transient house, a BnB room, a hotel room or a shared room. I ended up choosing to book a room in Finteo Skylands.

Finteo Skylands is an apartment-style property that is four storeys high and houses 4 to 5 rooms per floor. The property offers standard rooms for solo travellers and bigger, more furnished rooms for family travellers.

The waiting area
I am not a fan of pricey accommodation. I am after a budget-friendly accommodation with the inclusion of "travel necessities" and the like. The standard room, which is good for 1 to 2 occupants has a closet, a comfortable queen-size bed, a cable television and has its own toilet and shower. There is a small refrigerator, too. No need for an air-conditioning system (although an electric fan is available) as the apartment is located at the west of Burnham Park and at the south of Baguio City Proper, thus the apartment is a receiver of the chilly winds from the mountains.

My only problem with the bedding were the linen and pillow covers looked overused.

The bathroom is not that spacious but has a bidet and a temperature-controlled shower. With its tiled floors and walls, it is inevitable to feel the cold through your skin.

For group or family travellers with their own vehicles, a wide parking area is available.

Nothing fancy about the view, as the apartment is located in a residential area and is facing a mountain but you can enjoy that cold breeze by the terraces, dahling! I loved it, especially in the morning!

Finteo Skylands also offers free Wi-Fi connection at a decent speed. :) I did not find any toiletries in the bathroom, and I am not sure if it is provided by the staff for an extra charge. I have my own soap, towel, and shampoo brought in, so I did not bother asking. Otherwise, you can run into any of the sari-sari stores down the road as there are a couple.

I thought of having my clothes laundered in the adjacent laundry shop so as to have everything folded and light in my bag, but it will take some time to finish.

I arrived on the morning of Saturday and checked out at lunch on Sunday; not bad for a Php1,050 (online booked plus taxes) one-night stay rate, right?
